I’m Back!

Hi!  I know it’s been a few months since my last post, so I figured I’d explain where I’ve been and what I’ve been doing.

My apartment suddenly acquired a large population of RATS, which I’ve now determined is one of the world’s creepiest animals.  At first I thought I was going to be able to just trap them and stay here, but then I woke up to one sitting on my head while I was sleeping, and that was the end of THAT plan.  The next morning, I packed up and moved in with my parents, where I’ve been living until the…ahem….”situation” was taken care of.  Since I wasn’t at home, I didn’t have time to update my blog, and I didn’t have my yarn stash to make things with anyway, so it’s been a weird couple months.  But I FINALLY got to move back in a couple weeks ago, and now I’m back to my regular schedule!

I WAS able to take a little of my yarn stash with me, so I have completed a few projects while I was away.  First, I found a lovely butterfly stitch pattern and used it to make a shawl for my mom’s birthday.

When it’s laid out it’s harder to see the details, but when you hold it up, the butterflies really pop.

I also spent some time working on my Mandala Madness blanket.  I crochet so much for craft shows and gifts that I wanted a large complex project just for me, so I chose this AMAZING pattern from Helen Shrimpton.  I’ve been using the brightest colors I can find, so it’s very colorful.  It’s the project I work on when the world gets overwhelming.

Finally, my cousin just had a gorgeous baby girl, so naturally I needed to make her a blanket.  I went with a C2C graphgan because I haven’t done one in a while and it was the cutest way to incorporate Minnie Mouse that I could think of.

So that’s what I’ve been working on so far this summer!  Now that all the furry little butts have been expelled from the premises, I’ll be back to posting much more often.  I’ve been working on a really detailed amigurumi, and I’ll be posting about his assembly soon.
